Hormuz Transits Drop to Seven Ships as Brent Crude Breaks Above $100
As U.S.-Iran hostilities intensified again, preliminary vessel-tracking data showed only seven commercial vessels transiting the Strait of Hormuz on September 9, roughly half the recent 10-day average. At the same time, Brent crude rose above $100 a barrel. The transit figure may understate actual traffic because some vessels may sail with their tracking transponders switched off.
